Regarding your disqualification in the S.C. State tourney -
stephenI have heared numerous stories about Mr. Meredith's autocratic actions in running this tournament over the years. I mentioned the absurdly early cut-off date for entries, which resulted in my not bowling in the tournament even though it was at my home house, where i have bowled twice a week for 13 years and have entered numerous GCBA events! - I talked to a friend who had an even worse situation this year - This guy is a (future) GCBA Hall of Fame bowler, and is the owner of a bowling center here in town - he had two teams entered in the state tourney, with all fees paid, and his entry was rejected & returned because the postmark was 1 day late - after he had been told it would not be a problem - the tourney was still over a month away! The entries for the tourney were way down, even though it was in a popular city and was held at 2 well-run centers with fair scoring conditions. And people like Meredith and other "officials" wonder why sanctioned bowlers and tournament participants continuje to decline! Good luck with your appeal!
